Christiano Ronaldo back among the goals as Real Madrid defeat Sevilla

Cristiano Ronaldo scores twice as he returns to form for Real Madrid

- Nacho, Toni Kroos and Achraf score in dominant first half for Los Blancos

- Madrid remnain third on the log level on points with Valencia

Five first half goal helped Real Madrid secure a 5 - 0 win over an in-form Sevilla side.

It was Cristiano Ronaldo's first game since winning the 2017 Ballon d'Or award on Thursday, December 7 and he duly presented his precious accolade to the crowd before the game.

Ronaldo presented his Ballon'Or award

Defender Nacho Ferdnandez scored the opener in the second minutes when he pounced on a loose ball at the far post.

Nacho Fernandez opened the scoring in the game.
Ronaldo made it two in the 23rd minute with a simple tap-in and added his second with a penalty in the 31st which Sergio Rico could have done better to keep out.

Toni Kroos started and completed a swift counter-attacking move to make it four in the 38th minute.

Youngster Achraf Hakimi made it five three minutes from time with his first senior goal from the club when he outpaced Nolito to meet Karim Benzema's lay-off.

The second half was a different show as Sevilla looked more tidy at the back and created chances themselves.

Benzema hit the post with a header in the 67th minute while substitute Luis Muriel was unfortunate not to see his 82 minute strike find the back of the net.

Real Madrid now head off for the Club World Cup as they take time off a few round of fixtures in La Liga.

Madrid remnain third on the log level on points with Valencia who have a game in hand against Celta Vigo.
