Rampant PSG wallop Celtic 7-1 to set up new champions league record

PSG recorded a convincing 7-1 win against
Scottish Champions Celtic
- A brace from Neymar and Cavani ensured
a rampant victory for the French side
- PSG's tally of 24 goals after five games is
now the record for the most goals in a
single Champions League group
Already qualified Paris Saint Germain
were in their element at the Parc des
Princes in Paris as they ran riot over
helpless Celtic winning by seven goals to
one.
Celtic opened the goal scoring in the
first minute of the game when Moussa
Dembele cooly slotted home after 56
seconds.
But it did not take long before PSG
responded as Neymar pounced on a
brilliant pass from Raboit to slot home
the equalizer in the ninth minute.
PSG never looked back from then as
Neymar added the second before
turning provider for Edison Cavani to
score the third.
French starlet Mbappe added the fourth
for PSG before half time to give Unai
Emery's men a super comfortable lead
at half time.
The second half was not as lively as the
first as PSG took their foot off the pedal
a bit but the Scottish Champions never
posed any real threat to PSG going
forward.
PSG switched up the tempo in the last 15
minutes of the game as quick goals from
Verratti, Edison Cavani and Dani Alves
made it 7-1 as they completed the rout
for the French side.
The French club have scored the most
goals in this year's Champions League.
They have also scored more goals in a
single Champions League group stage
than any other side ever with 24 goals
after five games.
The French Ligue 1 side will hope to
continue with this good form in the
knockout phase of the Champions
League.
